Can I Trust my Solar Installer?

What requirements do you look for when deciding on the best person or company to do work on your house? How do you know if you can trust them?

Today you hear stories of ‘cowboy’ builders and trade professions having questionable creditability. This is where NES behave properly and professionally; importantly, what we would expect if we were a customer. NES are proud to be accredited by the National Federation of Roofing Contractors. This means that we are trusted quality contractors and use quality products. However, we are 1 of only 105 in the North West!

That is an important figure because as the consumer, you could be interacting with an unaccredited roofer or roofing company and taking risks

When you are searching for a company to complete your roofing requirements you should only use accredited roofing professionals, so look out for the NFRC logo.

The benefits of using a NFRC approved company:

  • It is the only accreditation that audits companies once a year. This checks that everything the company does is appropriate and professional.
  • Through this accreditation, we are able to provide a 10-year warranty on all our roofing works.
  • As a customer, you have a point of reference for any complaints. These will be dealt with correctly in an appropriate time manner.
  • The NFRC can act as an arbitrator to settle any disputes.
  • You know the supplies being used on your roof are accreditation approved products.
  • The people you will interact with will be trained personnel.

NES want to raise awareness about this NFRC Accreditation to help more people be aware of this important accreditation. Combining this with our 25 years of roofing experience, we believe NES can offer you the right solution to any roofing problem.

It is just as important to watch out for Solar PV miss-selling.  There are some companies and sales people that are using deceitful selling tactics to tap the solar market without giving any actual benefits to the customer. For example, you may be told “Your warranty is about to expire” or “You can get an upgrade/ maintenance plan in partnership with MCS”, these are FALSE. The Solar Trade Association are raising awareness of this issue and have written a great blog about the signs and classic hooks to look out for, you can read the full blog here, .

NES are trying to reduce the hesitance to install solar PV and the negative opinions around the sector and installers. Our MD Tony Edwards is even a member of the Solar Trade Association steering committee, using his experience and voice to support small companies in the sector. NES have over 8 years’ experience in the sector and a big portfolio of happy customers. If you are interested in Solar PV, we are happy to answer your questions and give you a quote.
